Month-end accounting wants hours. Co-counsel wants a high-level load picture. The same calendar holds both needs; the same file should not leave the building twice under different assumptions.
Titles are identifiers
Default calendar exports treat titles as harmless labels. In practice they are identifiers, and email makes them durable.
Two files, two audiences
Generate two outputs when needed: original titles for a sealed internal log, and “Work” or daily-totals-only for anything that might be emailed.

Two audiences, two files
I keep an internal export with real titles in a folder that does not casually sync to every device. Anything leaving the building gets a second export with titles replaced or removed. Renaming the attachment is not redaction, and neither is hoping the recipient will not scroll.
Why on-device processing matters here

Still not a certified legal timesheet
Court rules, firm billing systems, and ethical walls are outside this utility. The spreadsheet is a reviewable aid. If your firm mandates another system, that system wins, and this file is at best supporting context.
A habit that prevents “just this once”
When time is short, people export once with full titles “for accounting” and forward the same file to a wider group. Build the muscle of exporting twice. The second export takes less time than the apology email.

Is the export a certified legal timesheet?
